Meet Cheryl and Laurie
Cheryl
Cheryl is the founder and principal co-owner of Cheryl’s Kitty B&B. With over 20 years of experience in cat boarding, she has dedicated her life to providing safe, soothing, and loving care for cats in a true home setting. She built strong relationships with local veterinarians early on – many of whom now board their own cats with her.
Laurie
Laurie is Cheryl’s co-owner and trusted business partner in caring for guests. Her home offers additional cozy, cat-friendly spaces, and she shares the same commitment to safety, cleanliness, and individual attention. Laurie is especially focused on making sure each guest feels calm and secure during their stay.
Our Story
Cheryl started Cheryl’s Kitty B&B more than two decades ago in a large historic Victorian home in Rochester, NY. From the beginning, her mission was to create an authentic “bed & breakfast” experience for cats – comfortable rooms, homey surroundings, and gentle, individualized care.
To introduce the new concept of luxury cat boarding, Cheryl personally visited veterinarians across Monroe, Wayne, and surrounding Counties, bringing homemade cookies and explaining exactly how she cared for her feline guests. Today, many of those veterinarians choose to board their own cats with them.
Cheryl met Laurie in 2010 when Laurie boarded her cats with Cheryl. Over time, they talked during drop-offs and pickups, and a small connection formed. One day, after picking up her cats, Laurie said a simple yet meaningful line to Cheryl: “If you ever need any help, let me know.”
Now, between Cheryl’s home and Laurie’s home, they maintain many beautiful, cat-friendly rooms and condos, and every space is designed with comfort and safety in mind.

Their business insurance fully covers both locations, and they maintain the same high standards of cleanliness, safety, and comfort at each home. Whether your cat is staying with Cheryl or Laurie, they’re in a real home with experienced caregivers who truly love cats.

Cat-Only and Calm
We specialize in cat-only boarding, which ensures a quiet and calm environment. We never mix cats from different households – it’s safer and far less stressful.
Safety and Health First
The health and happiness of our guests are our top priorities. It can be risky to place unfamiliar cats together, as disagreements and fights can occur quickly. For everyone’s safety – and in accordance with our insurance – we never board cats together who don’t already live together.
If a cat has been boarded with us before and its owner is comfortable with it, we can provide it with supervised access to more of the home, allowing it to stretch their legs and explore.
Medication Policy
Due to past experiences with bites that led to hospitalization, we are very cautious about administering medications by hand. We are able to give medications for non-life-threatening conditions if they can be safely hidden in food or treats.
If your cat has complex medical needs or requires injections or forceful medication, we may recommend consulting with your veterinarian about medical boarding options.

These women are the best. I don't trust anyone else, outside of family, to watch my cats. Their rates are very reasonable, perhaps even cheaper than other local boarding services, and they will absolutely spoil your cat. They are extremely attentive and will text you updates as often as you want. Can't recommend them enough!
